I didn't say always. 150 is a lot more what they have in mind than the 5-13 I've paid for a decent room in Laughlin on many occasions.

So, what is your point? I posted because I had factual evidence that they are NOT getting "$150 per night on the strip.". Therefore, horseplayer's comment was not true. Horseplayer did not specify where on the strip, what time during the week or whether you play or not. But I felt compelled to answer your questions, because a casual reader of this forum may realize just what a travel bargain Las Vegas has become.
looked at orbitz for last night, of course last minute.. there was not a hotel on the strip (with a casino) that was less than $150

Here is the reality of it all.....YES you can get 3 nites for $39 during the week at many properties [usually thru EXPEDIA or ORBITZ etc.] YES you caqn bay $159 per night on weekends and sometimes during the week. [Sat Night I was selling the Four Queens at $159 and beating the people off with aq stick] it ALL depends on hbow many people are coming on any given day. We monitor each and every day for the next year for BOTH of our hotels[Four Queens and Binions] and we adjust rates up or down according to the business. We do a LOT of promotions. If those promotions are successful the rate goes up....Its a VERY competetive market right now...You either compete or file BK. We are competing [and quite well I might add]

Wow,.. You are so sure it even came out on a direct tv channel..

The problem is even worse then what was showed on that "homemade" internet video.. I studied urban/suburban planning and i'm currently studing this economic downturn.. Its true. Face the facts. Or you yourself go to the Human Services department and check out the problem.

That the problem exists is evident. That it is worse in Las Vegas is not.

I would note that like most of the SW except CA the laws and customs here are landlord friendly. I would also point out that the immediate eviction was likely illegal. Those procedures are regularly violated by a number of operators. The rub however is the fix is after the fact. You get evicted and then you can go to court to demonstrate that it was not done properly. All you need is money and time and an understanding that your satisfaction will be entirely emotional...no way you are going to get paid for it.

Of course this is also a big holiday weekend when occupancy is historically high with rates to match.
