Is Vegas really a bad place to have a baby?
A recent survey indicates that Las Vegas is a bad place to have a baby. We ranked 48 out of 50. But do you really have to go out of state to ensure a good delivery? The Healthline 3 Team went to get answers.

Tragic outcome for Henderson couple who had been expecting quadruplets
We have a sad update on the story of a Henderson family who had been expecting quadruplets. Only two of the babies survived and the parents were shocked to find out there were actually five babies in utero. One of the babies wasn't visible on ultrasound.

I think Vegas is a fine place to deliver a baby. I had both of my babies there at MountainView Hospital and I was very happy with the care, treatment, delivery, etc. It was a great experience, my doctor was wonderful and the staff at the hospital were also great. I've talked to others that have also had good experiences. Only one person I know had a poor experience and that was at St. Rose (I think, not sure). But MountainView is great! I've also heard great delivery experiences out of the Summerlin hospital.

St. Rose Hospital
We used St. Rose with both of our children. We used the oldr St. Rose right off of boulder highway.
Now so many people said why did you choose that hospital? Well , the reason is we know many people who used that hospital and had no problems at all.
And we also had no problems. Delivery was great, the rooms were well kept & clean.
No complaints here!
Good Luck

Didn't a lot of women's doctors leave town because they could no longer afford insurance against all the unwarranted lawsuits brought on by unscrupulous lawyers? (I know, unscrupulous lawyer is redundent). I've never heard of there being any serious problems, but the last kid I had in Las Vegas was nearly 34 years ago at the old Women's Hospital. He was premature and had to stay in the nursery for several days. They took very good care of him. I was in the business for 32 years so I feel qualified to say you can't believe ANYTHING you hear on TV news, or read in the paper for that matter.

Yes, my first Ob/Gyn left town for that very reason. She moved her practice to another state. But I found a new one that was great. I think you can get great pregnancy care and delivery in that city. I did... I have absolutely no complaints about the healthcare I received while having two children there.

Hmm... I was born at Sunrise Hospital way back in 1988. I don't think that's very relevant though.

I am sure Las Vegas is a fine place to have a baby. Is Las Vegas a nice place to raise a baby's life? That's another story altogether!
