The only time it has taken me more than an hour to get home from work is when I ride the Harley to work. Then I come out the Hollywood gate and go to Lake Mead Blvd and take it over Sunrise mountain and around the lake. Then I go past the marinas to the visitors center and come up from the south into Henderson through Boulder City. That is a 55 mile very pleasant ride on the bike that takes an hour and 10 minutes to get home. And if I'm in no real hurry and have a couple more hours to spare I'll cruise down to Searchlight for some gas and back home, that's my 128 mile ride home from work and that takes about 2 1/2 hours. Riding a Harley will mess your mind up like that.

Well, I hope you have the Golden Age Passport for National Parks so it doesn't cost you $5.00 everytime you go through the Lake Mead Nat'l Rec. Area.

I'm not old enough for the Golden Age Passport yet, I believe you have to be 62 for that. I buy the annual passes for Lake Mead for our three vehicles and two boats. They are $20 for the first one and $10 for each additonal pass. Vehicle pass is $20 for the first one plus $10 each for the additional two and the boat passes are $20 for the first one and the second one is $10. Makes my total annual pass for all five $70.

I found a home...!!!
Well I think its a nice decent spot, not a seedy feel to the area but then again I only had a showing of the house and I really liked it. Im off of Cheyenne and Allen. There's a Rec center and nice park down the street. Not too congested of an area. I sure hope everything goes nicely. Im moving in at the end of the month already got approved for the house, its a go!.
I am having some trouble with Embarq though, their website is saying that they dont service my home. I hope thats not the case.
Does anyone know if DirecTV bundles with any other carriers in LV?
I was told by my realtor that my commute to the base should be no more then 30mins in traffic. Any rebutles to that?
Thanks again to all!

You should be able to make it in less than 30 minutes except from 0700 to 0800, and 1700 to 1800. But even then you can catch a break. If you're a pilot I'd say 15. If not, maybe 20.
I used to make it from Decatur and Lone Mountain to a little ways beyond where Cheyenne, Pecos, and LV Blvd North come together sometimes in 20 minutes. I drove pretty fast though. But I think that's at least three miles further than Cheyenne and Allen.

Embarq, aka Sprint does service your home. Tell them I said so.
They service my home and i'm just a few miles from where you are moving to.
Hint: call them, don't rely on the website.

Pink,
Your right, I do plan on calling them. They have much better advertised deals then Cox. When I put my address in their website it came up as College Park, NV. not North Las Vegas. I am going to give them a call though, do you know if any of the carriers down there bundle with DirecTV?
Thanks again,
Military Family
