i don't think all of sunrise mountain is a dangerous area. there are some good neighborhoods over that way. i know quite a few people that live there and they love it. they are not dangerous people either.

Sharon Holmes is on a distinguished road
Obviously none of you were born in Las Vegas, which used to be a nice little town in the desert. In high school I stabled my horse at a stable at the corner of Decatur and Sahara, and on Sunday morning I rode to the Silver Slipper, which was behind the Last Frontier Hotel, which was replaced by the New Frontier Hotel. And on that ride, there was nothing to see or cross except the railroad track. There were hitching rails where everyone tied up their horses while they went inside for the "Hunt Breakfast" buffet. Then we rode home. I trapped crawfish below the new Big Springs Museum, and went to Brownic Day Camp at Warm Springs Ranch where we swan in the warm water creek that ran through the desert. Over the years, as those thing disappeared, we natives said a fond farewell, and we learned to use some of those back roads you have all found, not because we wanted to, but because we had to. I bought my last home there in 1993, way out off Craig and the 95 because there was so little traffic coming into town from there. Right! I finally sold the house and moved to Arizona because I couldn't stand the blow-it-up and tear-in-down mentality which has run amok for years. Now I am going back to Nevada, but I will find peace and quiet in Searchlight or Cal-Nev-Ari. Less than 45 minutes to most of Las Vegas if you listen to the radio so you know where the accidents are, and about 30 minutes to Boulder City or Henderson. Yes, it IS an eclectic population, and the old part of downtown had a lot of boarded up historic buildings that need to be put on the Historic Register and protected before someone tears them down too! But it has class and character, something Las Vegas lost a long time ago.
