Smile Put the deposit down!

I am extremely excited to say that after spending my last 3 days apartment hunting in Las Vegas- I have put a deposit down! July 15 is my OFFICIAL moving day =)

I am a 23 year old female from Vancouver, WA (pretty much Portland, OR) and I am very excited to join you in Las Vegas! I will actually be in Henderson- I decided on The Palm Villas at Whitney Ranch. I recently graduated with my teaching degree here in Washington and am hoping to teach in CCSD. I know the hiring is awful right now..but luckily I am highly qualified to teach middle school math, language arts, and social studies- so there may be a chance still!

However, if I end up subbing for a year at least it will be a good chance to learn the area. I am also a professional dancer and dance teacher so I will hopefully be teaching ballet/tap/jazz/hip hop at a local studio as well! My dream though would be a teaching contract where I get to coach the dance team

If anyone has any helpful information I would GREATLY appreciate it! I am still curious about things such as reccomended dentist/health care- car insurance (when do I need to transfer to a NV license or do I??) - Animal hospitals (bringing my 4yr old miniature dachshund) - and any other helpful information

Although this is my first post- I have read a lot of previous posts which helped me in so many difficult decisions already- thank you all so much!

Lesa

If your current car insurance company provides coverage in Nevada, you just need to update your address with them, which will probably result in higher rates. If not, you'll need to get new insurance pretty quick. Welcome to Las Vegas!

I guess one could technically teach dance with much hope, I don't think that's what you meant. I dunno why it is, but I get a kick out of teachers who make basic errors in their areas of specialty.

Thanks guys! I am contacting my car insurance company tomorrow.

Kaiminani- I hope I can amuse you even further by letting you know I also use text speak when texting, or even chatting online. I often leave off the g, and find that saying "guys" for both females and males is more acceptable than gals in most situations. However, would I ever use these while writing a paper, teaching, or when sending a professional email? Not a chance Sorry, I was under the impression that this was a place to just chat and find out useful information- my bad!

Hopefully this one will keep you entertained too- as you provided much entertainment for me as well! Thanks =)
