Las Vegas is in Clark County. I think you're trying to ask which part of the city would be best to live in? That depends mainly on what you want to be close to the strip or away from the strip. Rents range from $700-$1000+ again depending on location.

As far as outdoor activities, there is hiking, golf, tennis, softball, soccer, pools, lacrosse, boating, camping, skiing up in Mt. Charleston (an hour's drive from Vegas).

Best advice is to spend a week out here in July and August to see if you can tolerate the heat which can be extreme (110-115 and 10% humidity). All other times of the year are perfect.

Theres a few areas of the city that are nice theres Summerlin wich is great but you will pay more to have an address there, Silverado ranch area is great I lived there for 5 years the rents are under summerlin, Anthem are wich is more expensive but I really like it they have a nice country club. Then theres the south west theres some great places over there im not as familiar with the area so I cant tell you to much about it. Theres the north west wich is really nice prices are about the same as the Silverado Ranch area deending on where you want to be. For a decent 2 bedroom it can run you anywhere from 700 and up it all really depends on what you want. My advice is go on realtor.com or craigslist and look at the places and the areas then look on the crime map and see wich area you want to be in it will give you a good idea of the nicest places. The weather is hot it is the dessert but winters are great the only two months of the year that are really hot is July and August wich is about 115 degrees. I say come visit and check out neighborhoods go threw the stores and check out a few apartments and get your feel for the city its self not just the strip. Good luck I hope you find what your looking for.

If you don't have a job lined up, you need at least 12 months of living expenses saved up.

In case you haven't been watching the news, there are no jobs out here.

Correction: There are no high paying jobs out here. There are a lot of $7 an hour jobs that are available right now that will hire you tomorrow. Nobody seems to want to take them.
