This was many years ago so food stamp usage rules may have changed. At least WIC specifies what types of food can be bought to ensure it is healthy. I think they don't like to put too many rules on most types of assistance to protect the "dignity" of the recipients - but I don't think it is too much to ask that if taxpayers are footing the bill, that the foods they are able to purchase should at least be nutritious so they are doing what they are intended to do rather than creating additional health problems that then have to be dealt with through further public assistance programs.

Milk is not a health food. Milk and other dairy products are one of the causes of diabetes in kids. notmilk.com.They should only let people buy fruits, veggies and whole grains with food stamps so they actually get some good nutrition instead of setting them up for disease later on in life.

Hardly jealousy. Just pointing out the facts.
Besides the wife are I already have an European car, why would I want a downgrade to a Volvo?

another possibility
The lady using the card may have been a family member or friend. You can let anyone use the card. There are no rules against it. I have picked up stuff for a friend of mine who doesn't have a car. I don't drive a volvo, but I wonder who was judging me as I got into my fairly new car.

WIC is very specific in what it allows. It's eggs, cheese, milk, juice I think etc.. it's not like she can grab whatever she wants. Try not to judge, by now people should know lots of families are struggling & need hand up. How do people even have time to worry/notice how others are paying?

You should see how many kids getting free school lunch get picked up in expensive SUVs and have mobile phones. I believe there are limits to the amount of savings a person can have. 1500 thereabouts--not even enough for a dental emergency. I think 40% of the kids at C-M are on free/reduced lunch, and that isn't nearly as poor of an area as most parts of the big ghettoe.

When you're pregnant or nursing, you need the extra calories, fat and nutritional benefits of milk.
