Default Going to LV for a couple of days

Im considering going to LV for a couple of days next week, from Tuesday-Thursday or Wednesday-Friday.
I will travel alone, most likely, and I wont have access to a car.
Anybody have any tips on where I should rent a hotel room?
And how do I get around town?
Oh, and what should I not miss when I'm there?

Take the deuce for transportation. The strip has pretty much all you need for entertainment. For hotels, I use Hotwire.com: Discount airfare, hotel reservations, car rentals, vacation packages and cruises

Excellent, thanks.
Is it any other (cheaper) way to get from the airport to the strip than by taxi?
And how is the nightlife during the weekdays? I wanna do some gambling, of course, but I'd also like to go to some clubs.
So what are the best nightclubs during the weekdays?

I never go to the nightclubs. I have heard Rain at the Palms is a popular nightclub. The deuce will take you from the airport to the strip for $3.

Don't the strip hotels have free shuttles to/from the airport?

Rent a room from a major resort on the main part of the strip...between Mandalay Bay to Encore. You won't need a car, you won't be bored by yourself, and you will have a great time! I go to Vegas often and I've been there once by myself and still enjoyed it very much.

Nightlife at the Palms is great and you can always meet people playing Black Jack for example. Ghost bar is cool place at the Palms to meet people.

There are some great deals right now.

If you are on a tight budget... stay at Hooters Resort and Casino, it's extremely cheap and equivalent to a large Holiday Inn. around $35

If you are on a moderate budget... stay at Luxor Resort and Casino, they have very reasonable rates now. around $60

If you are on a moderate budget... stay at MGM, Paris, TI, Mirage, Monte Carlo, Planet Hollywood just to name a few.

I haven't stayed at any that do...most have free valet parking though. A taxi is pretty cheap from the strip to LAS.

no.....State laws prohibit it.....[engineered by the transportation companies] the exception being, if you have won or lost a bundle [usually lost] then they will do a limo for you.
