Food runner has to bring food to tables, fire food to make sure all courses are out in a timely manner, mark tables with proper silverware for next course, and whatever chef may need.

Thats really awesome that u got a call to take a drug test for gourmet food server (American Fish restuarant). A lot of people that applied for food server are concerned because they have not got calls back. Also people thought if the position is still posted and not closed by city center or the department managers that there were'nt any phone calls to take the drugs test yet...WELL BEST OF LUCK TO U

We just got back from city center and here is what the lady in the front desk told me: SHe said that from here on out, all applicants that they are interested in will either be called or emailed on what the next step should be. Just because you don't hear anything does not mean you will not be called. There are just way too many applicants for them to accommodate all at the same time. But she did also say that if City Center puts an applicant into the hiring process which are the department interviews, drug tests, and background check, and they all pass, they could be offered a position even outside what they applied for. She said they are investing a lot of money on these people and will not let them go just like that. That's when she she suggested to continue waiting for mine since my account is still ACTIVE because even if they hire enough people for that restaurant, I can be repositioned for another restaurant. My fiance's interview for Valet went good as well but just like the rest of us, he too has been put in the dark. No assurance but just an impressed interviewer who handed him the postcard for CIty Center's timelines. Drug test is going on from last month til September and job offers are from September 5 til December. I saw a few people that came in for drug testing today. They were holding a green postcard and being directed away from the waiting area. So, pretty much all the info I got today is not much any different from what we all already know. Just that if you have already been drug tested do mean you have a great chance of being hired because they are already investing on you...For the ones that are ACTIVE, hope to be called for further steps...

When did your application and department interview take place? Did they say anything to you when you came in for the drug test?

Butterfly69,

I did get some updates but it's really very vague. But I think they're being honest when they say, you don't increase your chance of being hired if you try to apply for another restaurant but keeping the same position. You will just be rerouted back to the beginning of the hiring process and redetermined of your qualifications all over again. Thanks for the motivation! I wish the same for you and do think you are in serious consideration because of how City Center is doing it. Especially now that they are no longer accepting applications for cocktails only means they're in the process of eliminating and pushing people through for that department. Keep us posted

Applied in May and got the department interview June 1st. The lady who did my test didn't say much I was in and out in 10 minutes.

Hi Everyone,

About 2 hours ago, I got a call from City Center. Coincidentally, I left my cell and city center just left me a voicemail to call them back. When I called, the rep asked for my social and she put me on hold to verify who had called me. She kept coming back on the line asking me to hold and then finally transferred me to a manager. I was asked if I was interested in the gourmet server position at JG Steakhouse and I said I am. She then asked me to come in tomorrow between 9-2:45pm for the drug test. So for the rest of the FOH applicants, lengthen your patience a little longer. I know it could get very stressful that you just want give up but there's still a lengthy time left to be called.
