Thumbs down stop being negative

"And you will keep waiting. You just don't get it, do you?"

To the person sending me the reputation comments, would you please STOP sending me negative or "realistic" comments. Yes, I am still waiting and so are many people on here hense why this thread is still here and growing. And no, I must not "get it" so please be so kind to explain it to me and everyone else waiting for a call.

I am sorry to those I offended trying to defend myself to a complete stranger, who won't even show their username. I am here just like everyone else to help support others and get support while staying positive and hopeful.

I wasn't told anything about a 90 day lottery-What shift did you get?

The F&B Director is correct. After 90 days in a new union property, employees do a seniority lottery. Shifts are chosen according to the lottery numbers picked. This is all according to union contract.

So, after 90 days, you could be the absolute worst employee in your position and pick #1 in the lottery and then choose the very best shifts. Or, you could be the very best in your position, and get the last lottery pick and get on the extraboard.

Welcome to Vegas, and welcome to union employment. You take the good with the bad.

I have over 30 years in the union, local 226 (chefs dept.) and opened two union hotels in this town and this is the first I have heard of this.

Default Lottery?

Each time I opened a hotel that was union our seniority was determined by our application date at one property and the other place it was determined by the hire date, (the day we signed the offer). I have a friend that is a local 226 union member that works as a shop steward and part time union organizer; I will ask her what’s up. If she does not know I will call Kevin down there.

Another quick note: This hotel is not union yet, it will open nonunion. There will be a vote by the employees later to vote “yes or no” if they want the union.
