Congratulations! .....By the way, have you worked in Vegas before or will you be completely new to the area?

I hear a lot of talk about how you need the "juice" to work on the Strip. Its been explained on here in earlier posts so I don't want to stir anything up again about that.

I'm just an out-of-towner who wants answers like everyone else.

FYI: My app is showing up as blank, too, though the position still reads open.

Funny thing is it's not. It is one on one and can be done over the phone... I just didn't get it.

dumb question to the out of towners... you guys are going to move to vegas for a $12-$14hr job?? unless you are in management, i dont think they are going to pay more than that.. im just curious... that is why i think alot of apps say active.. if blank, they make an offer... if active, they wait to see if the "blank" is going to take the job, then go down the line with the actives

Hi Laya,

My fiance just got a call from City Center from a guy named Jim asking him to come in this friday for a job offer paperwork. He applied for a valet attendant position for Aria. He had one department interview and a drug test in the months of June and July. So they're really moving forward with the hiring process.

I'm open and active and called the 800 number today. I was told that "things are looking pretty dang good right now", and that they're starting to offer food and bev first then they're moving down the line, whatever the line is. I applied for front services, specifically bellman. I'm a bit skeptical on the blank vs. active debate now after talking to this rep, but then again who really knows!

Is everyone still sold that active is bad and blank is good? I'm wondering if blank is the last step before officially calling and offering and active is just for those who have yet to be moved to the call list? The rep made it seem like front services weren't being contacted just quite yet. I am guardedly optimistic that active isn't the end. Just throwing that out there, but it's all hearsay until we get offers isn't it!?

I believe it's true that if your status says "Active" or is "Blank" either way you are bound to get a call soon.

I just called CC at 2:10pm. I got a gentlemen from the employment department to confirm my "status". I told him that it is "blank". Here's what he told me. (Keep in mind this is about the 3rd time I've called these people in the last 3 or 4 Months..lol)

He said "When your application goes from Active----> Blank this means that the department head is moving you fast forward and isn't letting the status stay active for very long which means your at the top of the list to be moved forward." He also said that "Basically you've exceeded their expectations and you are in the top percentile"

When he looked at my application he asked me to hold. He stated that I should "expect a call after Labor Day. That's when they will aggressivley be calling for job offer appointments." I asked him again if being "blank" on my job status was a bad thing and he again said "No, it just means that they are moving you along through the process too quickly to let your application get into the Active catagory". So really, as said before in this thread Active or Blank it's all good as long as it doesn't say "Inactive".. There is no way of getting out of that one.

As far as the "top percentile" deal. Not sure if I even believe him. But we'll see. I figure if I get to pick my own hours then yea.. I was most likely up there. Ihope this helps those people who were doubting their skills in the "Blank area".

My point of view on the application status is completely opposite. I believe "Active" status gets first priority and job offers first and the "Blank" status are the backups just in case they need to fill in open spots after the initialized job offers. Seems like most of the ones called in are in the Active status. My fiance's status was active status as well.
