ACTUALLY I should have said all roads to NEVADA.....I made no such assumption about you.....and I have lived here for 45 years and love it as much now as I did June 1, 1962.

Once again, you confuse LV with Nevada. Nevada is a fine place to live, while LV has one of the lowest qualities of life imaginable; but hey, if you like it, I'm not knocking that.

What are you prattling about? Las Vegas is Nevada. That is most of it...then there is Reno and environs...and then there is the rest of it...which would be a hardly noticeable in the overall scheme.

No, the state is 50 million acres of mostly empty wild land interspersed with a few curious towns. Land where you can breathe, and see. A land of over 300 mountain ranges, with trout filled creeks, Elk filled aspen forests, pronghorn, deer, lions wild horses, Wilderness areas you can wander in for a month and not see a soul.

Trivia, Nevada has about 70 towns and is about the size of the British Isles, which contain 70,000 towns.

Las Vegas is just a city, full of concrete and asphalt, like every other city.

All true...to the degree you consider Nevada a geographic enitity.

All false...to the degree you consider Nevada a construct of the people who live there in.

Or you can consider Nevada simply the dumping grounds of the USofA. That which is not stomachable elsewhere...put in Nevada. Would it make us feel better if our role is that of the national garbage pit?

And actually Las Vegas is full of people...something that does not occur much in the rest of the state.

Some prefer rocks, akaline planes, forested mountains. Others like people.

Whatever turns you on...

The people are the city.
- William Shakespeare, Coriolanus

Fields and trees are not willing to teach me anything; but this can be effected by men residing in the city.
- Plato (originally Aristocles}, Works
(vol. III, The Phaedrus)

union of men in large masses is indispensable to the development and rapid growth of the higher faculties of men. Cities have always been the fireplaces of civilization whence light and heat radiated out into the dark cold world.
- Theodore Parker

I have an affection for a great city. I feel safe in the neighbourhood of man, and enjoy the sweet security of the streets. ~Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Divine Nature gave the fields, human art built the cities. ~Marcus Terentius Varro, De Re Rustica
