Are you interested in an online course that will enable you to get EPA Certified?
The course is free, and the test/certificate fee is 25$.

Have you researched the experience required to qualify for a Nevada license?

Statute . . C-21d Maintenance

Nevada Contractors Board . . requirements (http://www.nvcontractorsboard.com/NSCB%20Documents/Overview%20of%20Contractor%20License%20Requirement s_3_4_09.pdf - broken link)
"WHAT EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED TO OBTAIN A LICENSE?
• An applicant for a contractor’s license must provide evidence of at least four years
experience as a journeyman, foreman, supervising employee or contractor in the field
of work for which a license is being sought.
• The four (4) years experience must have occurred within the ten (10) years
immediately preceding filing of an application.
• Nevada requires four reference certificates that must be completed by someone who
has firsthand knowledge of your experience. For example, a home owner, employer,
other journeymen, architect, engineer, or other responsible individuals who can verify
your work. Training received in a program offered at an accredited college or
university may be used to satisfy a portion of the required experience."

You don't need a contractor's license to repair a/c. You will need one to be a contractor; but that's not what you asked. EPA Certification by Mainstream Engineering

CSN by far I the best school, I own an hvac business and I've hired people from most all schools. People from school generally do t know crap. CSN being the exeption, in my opinion that's the only real hvac school. Spending your money elsewhere is a complete waste.

The only accredited HVAC/CR school in Las Vegas is Advanced Training Institute.
IMHO, the only HVAC school in Vegas to attend.

I have to agree with air doctor, CSN.

ATI is not near the school that CSN is.

Last I heard, ATI was accredited by HVAC Excellence and ACCET.

In the case of these two schools, accredited doesnt mean anything. The course at CSN is longer and more thorough. I know quite a few old time a/c contractors in Vegas and they will all tell you the same, CSN.
