Talking Ideas for the old Moulin Rouge site.

My idea would be to build one of the following on the property.

1.A new ballpark for the 51s. They need a new facility if Las Vegas has any chance of keeping triple AAA baseball. This is why the dodgers severed ties and we are only under contract with the Blue Jays until the end of the 2010 season. A new ballpark can revitalize the area and perhaps a new team (Padres,DBacks,Angels?) would consider adding Vegas as their affiliate.

2. The long talked about but never materialized sports arena. Mayor Goodmans dream of an arena on Charleston and main is pretty much dead. The old Moulin Rouge site IMO would be a better place to build. Its got freeway access and its near downtown and could serve as a tool to revitalize the area as would the ballpark. A spanking new arena wold entice either an NHL or NBA franchise and it would fullfill the requests that both David Stern and the NBA demand out of an NBA venue. Now this doesnt mean a franchise is guaranteed but a new arena can lesson the traffic the T&M already has. Heck hold the rodeo there and the Mountain West tourney there.

3. A museum/aquarium. Like the one in Baltimore. I like the shark reef but I think we could use a much larger one that can hold more aquatic wildlife. I think it would be a big hit here especially if you don't put it inside a casino forcing people to drag their families through a smoke filled gambling area.

What do you all tihnk?

A museum/aquarium would be nice.. Doesnt seem liek something that would happen in Vegas for awhile. So lets build a Casino with an aquarium feeling. While your gambling you can watch all the different kinds of fish

Default Slide Palace/Roller Rink

Picture this:

A 250 foot high oval glass-faced structure. On top would be a roller rink with mouth-gaping views in all directions. On top of that would be an outdoor jogging track.

Inside this huge structure would be a series of slides, some almost vertical, some very slow and winding. You'd have lots of choices, a fast, medium or slow slide down to the bottom.

And other fun things for kids on the main floor. Built for both tourists and locals.
