No I take that back. The best is probably the Red Arrow Dinner in Manchester, NH. Cafe Pasqual doesn't have lobster.
I live in Santa Fe and I hope that's a joke? Regardless of what Rachel Ray and food critics say, Pasquals is way over-priced, way over-ratted, and just not very good. I'd take Pancake House or Mimi's any day over them. (God how I wish Santa Fe had either!) For breakfast in Santa Fe check out the Pantry.

This may sound funny, but my friends and I all agree, the best breakfast for the money in Vegas (keeping in mind I don't live there or anything) is the Breakfast Buffet and the Stratosphere! I'm sure you locals are probably rolling your eyes and laughing, but for $9 it had everything I ever would have wanted and unlike most hotels, all the food, the meats, the fruits, etc, and seemed to be of good quality.

It is not a rational place for a local. The logistics are very difficult. You have to get there, park or valet, wander through the Casino, perhaps wait in line. Maybe on a weekend...

With so many wonderful locals places for breakfast, who needs or wants to go to a casino buffet?

For a couple or three different choices of Eggs Benedict, again The Original Pancake Houses have the best, with The Cracked Egg coming in second, and probably Mimi's third.

I do a lot of breakfats out.

swagger, we went to Mollie's Kountry Kafe a few weeks ago after having driven by there for 15 years and wondering if it was any good. We were very pleased, but haven't been enough to vote yet. The reason we never stopped is how it looks from the outside. But inside we were really surprised at how nice it is. The other big surprise was the owners are a couple of men that you wouldn't expect in that type of restaurant. They're obviously from the Middle East. I was looking for someone's granny with that decor. The owner seemed very nice and told us he's been there for 19 years.
Nice, the Cracked Egg is right near my place, and I'll have to try the Original Pancake House, too. That's lame that the one on Cheyenne closed, just from my convenience perspective. But "the search" is certainly more than worth the extra stop lights one of these days.

I actually never tried the Cafe Pasqual, though I had heard about it. Went to The Pantry once, mdmagana, and it was good. For the most part, I stuck to Tortilla Flats, and then the Guadalupe Cafe when I was up early enough to beat the crowd. I lived in Los Alamos and Albuquerque, so Santa Fe was usually a weekend 'mecca' from Los Alamos since it was dead on the weekend (I use that word b/c that's how the traffic made me feel). At that point, I knew what I craved each weekend opportunity and deviated rarely. (BTW, if anyone is ever by crazy chance in Los Alamos, it would behoove them to go for dinner to the China Palace. It's owned and operated by a Chinese chef who works there every day. He buys only quality ingredients and always cooks them perfectly. The Hot & Sour soup is the best I've ever had, from scratch, and particularly awesome on a cold, dry mountain day).

Well a brunch buffet at one of the five stars once a year is OK MomMom. Then go home and sleep all afternoon. I make the Admiral drive home.

Yeah, as has been mentioned, the casinos are just a pain. The buffets are a great way to get reasonable bang for your buck when people visit from out of town and want to see the area anyway, but their kitchen logistics just make it hard to turn out 100% quality, enjoyable fare. Not downing them, though, as these buffets around here are some of the best I've ever had (aside from going to certain ethnic proprietorships for lunch buffet, which can be surprisingly rewarding if they also make great dinner entrees).
