It's been a hard decision, but it's time for our 13 yo Pom. She has become blind and is becoming incontinent. Her quality of life has went downhill quickly.

Does any one know of or could recommend a place that will not charge a huge amount to put her down? We are on a fixed income and cannot afford the $100 + that a couple of places we called quoted us.

Any help would be appreciated!

Contact the Lied animal shelter. I know that they do Euthanasia requests for only $10 if you live in Clark County. If you live in Las Vegas or North Las Vegas it is $25.

Ann road animal hospital has discount prices. Ann/Simmons. Not sure what they charge for euthanasia though. So sorry to hear about your beloved pomeranian. Sometimes setting them free is the best thing to do for them.

I hate that. A little piece of my soul dies each time. Particlularly with the puppy dog who actually trotted in to that last visit to the vet.

They did a nice job on a hard task but it was not cheap.

You might try Dr. Steelman at Bonanza Cat Hosipital. Tell her you are on a fixed income. Linda does nice things.

Hmm Even writing this makes my eyes well up...

Also try the SPCA

I am guessing Lied would be the least expensive.

What makes you think your dog wants to be killed? Has there ever been one recorded instance of an animal committing suicide?

On the flip side what makes you think the animal enjoys suffering?

I'm surprised by the attempts at "humor" during what is surely a difficult time for the OP.

To the OP: Once you've relieved your Pom's pain, you may find this forum to be therapeutic: http://www.city-data.com/forum/rainbow-bridge/.
