Smile Moving to Las Vegas Next Week. Need advise!!

Hello everyone,
I am moving to Las Vegas/Henderson area next week. I do not know I soul there, but have visited many times and I love the west. I lived in Phoenix for 8 years before having to move back to Alabama to take care of my mother. I am loading a Pod this weekend and plan to be on the road on Monday. I have not found a place to live yet, but I know I want to be in the Henderson area. Any advice???

Also, I have three beautiful Lab dogs and I would like to board them when I get there, so I can go look at houses to rent. Any advice on where I should board my babies!!!

Thanks
Patty

LVD...she sounds fully prepared for this move. So I would assume that she's got at least $20 in her pocket.

Patty:
Have you done any research on where you plan to stay when you arrive in Vegas? There are some extended stay motels that will charge you by the week or month that will accept dogs. I suggest you contact them for information before getting on the road.

Finally - someone who's done their research and carefully planned their relocation. I was getting tired of reading stories about people who moved here on a whim and then crashed and burned within a few months.

Patty,

Please do your research!!!!!! Unemployment is at a all time high of 14%!!!
Why would you come to a town where it is imploding?

Anyhow, good luck cause you will need it.

Hi DesertRose445,
I have looked into several hotels that accept pets. But I would prefer to board them once I arrive so I don't have to worry about them, until I find a house.

I have looked at the employment occp. as well. I am in the hotel business and from the research I've done the Vegas area seems to be one place in the country that is hiring in this field.
