Moving to LV
My boyfriend and I are are planing to move to the Vegas area, but I will be attending UNLV and he will be attending Le Cordon Bleu in Summerline. Is there a nice quiet neighborhood that's between the two schools where we can either buy or rent? I have been reading Summerlin is a great place and Green Valley.. any place in the middle that compares to these two neighborhoods? Thanks

Only because i was trying to find someplace in the middle so neither of us has to travel too far. But I guess I will have to see what's there and then decide.
Thnks! :-)

OK , So I have been looking by zip code, but I am having a time with that. Do you have city , neighborhood or subdivision names that I may be able to look into?
Thanks Again!

Are you looking at purchasing a home, condo, renting an apartment? A little more info will help us to help you.
My choices would be in The Lakes, Spring Valley, Peccole Ranch (all areas within Las Vegas, on the west side of the valley) and about in the middle of the two schools. All relatively nice areas with many neighborhoods, apartments, stores, restaurants, conveniences.

We would like to purchase a single family home if possible, since we will be there for at least 3 years. If we can't find something we both like to purchase, then renting would be the next option.

Moving to Henderson would be a difficult drive to Le Cordon Bleu in Summerlin. Would work with going to UNLV though.
As a reference (and a reference only) you can use this website to see what's out there:
Up at the very top (in green) you can put the zip code in and your other preferences and see what's available. Please remember, some of those properties that are listed may not still be available or they may have offers already.
Real estate for sale by city | BlockShopper Las Vegas
I'd use the zip codes provided by Olecapt, but also 89128 and 89146
However, these are references only. Nothing beats a trip here (not as a tourist) to scout out the neighborhoods (get a rental car and drive away from the Strip) and a knowledgeable realtor.

The bolded part should be more like 10 years if you are expecting a reasonable amount of price appreciation.
<10 years = take advantage of the recently lowered apartment rents.
