Excalibur or CircusCircus
For a family with two small kids (7 and 5) which hotel is better?
As a side note, I've been advised not to go to Las Vegas with kids;
but it is a work trip, so I am dragging the family to have a vacation
too.

and DO NOT get the cheap Manor rooms at CircusCircus... You will regret it... Then again, you couldn't pay me to stay at either place.

I would recommend The Orleans...they have bowling, movies, a nice pool (not sure when you're going), nice game room...and spacious rooms at very reasonable prices.

Circus Circus because of the games, circus acts etc. I know when that first opened, my kids were very small and they loved it. We never stayed in the rooms however, so I am not sure what they are like. But my kids loved the games. Excalibur on the other hand has always been one of my favorite hotels, because of the design of it...not that it matters a whole lot to kids.

Thanks all.
Now, if I stay at Planet Hollywood, would I need to have my kids
blind folded in hallways?
Is Las Vegas as bad as I've heard?
Near naked people walking around, ads of burlesques shows everywhere.
Only good thing I've heard is cheap food.

If you're looking for cheap food and lodging you should head 90 miles south of LV to Laughlin NV.

Thanks, just a clarification, my "event" is in Planet Hollywood (PH).
So, if I the pool is ok, I suppose my kids could survive for
2 nights. I've checked Circus Circus, it is about 7 miles from
PH, so while I am busy my wife would be able to take them there
for a day. The travel agent says Excalibur or CircusCircus is good
for families.
Sorry, I did not mean to imply that I am looking for just cheap food.
I am bit concern about all the negative things that I've heard.

Circus Circus and Excalibre are both pretty seedy. I would never take my eyes off my kids for one minute in either one.
