I have the Nevada form... If the tenant is not at home, do i mail a certified copy? tape it to the door? etc... How does this work? At the bottom, there is a spot for tenant signature

you can tape it to the door, but they can always claim that they did not receive the notice. Just to cover your own end, and to prevent any further delays, I would do a certified copy. When you do a certified copy, they must sign for the letter, indicating they received, which will make your 5 day VALID....same as signing the 5 day notice.
The signature at the bottom of the 5 day notice, is just to indicate they received the notice, nothing more nothing less. Good luck

Yes, I would do a certified mailing. However, they can refuse to accept the letter or if they are not home when it is delivered the post office will leave a slip for them to pick up the letter at the post office. They may not pick it up either.

What I have done in the past is a delivery confirmation (ex-husband refuses to accept anything) that shows the post office delivered the letter. Other than that, on the Constable website you can pay them to serve the notice. It is not that expensive and when the Constable does it, it is a done deal.
