Ahhh, you're right. Forgot about the credit line. Wynn has said on multiple occasions that they are not going to act as private bankers.

I would also observe that the personalities involved may well have more sway than anything else. It is not clear that the "whale" can actually differentiate between the various offers. The personality of the contact people is likely the key ingredient.

Its also about the no limit. Try to place $5 MIL bet on the passline at the other houses. They wont book the bet. The high end players usually dont make these big bets BUT THEY LOVE THAT THEY HAVE THE OPTION TO DO SO.

In Mr. Watanabe's case, I disagree. In a situation where someone is about to kill him or herself and no one intervenes, that is a shocking lack of community responsiblility.

Sorry, this is one lawsuit that should earn the attorney a fine for frivolous lawsuit. How stupid! Did someone bend his elbow to force the alcohol and/or pills down his throat? Hold his nose closed until he swallowed? Just because the casino makes the alcohol available, doesn't make the casino liable for your drinking it. I have been gambling for 12 years. For a while, it was every 2 months. I lost some, I won. But the thing is, I did it sober. I ordered coffee, water, soda when the servers come around. No one required me to have an alcoholic drink. Alcohol was even free in the high roller lounge and not once did I order a drink. I like being sober; I don't particularly care for the taste of alcohol or its effect on me. CHOICE.

I know this might come as a shock to a lot of you folks but if the casinos didn't make money from handing out free booze then they would not do it.

Cheers.
A crazy suggestion, I know, but why not drink the alcoholic beverage and not get drunk. Last time I check, I don't think casinos are pulling your hair and head back, opening your mouth by force, and pouring alcohol down it.

The digs and perks that the Whales get are very, very plush, no matter where they stay. Trust me, while the regular Joe's might have better (and more expensive) quarters at Wynn and the Bellagio than those who stay at a Caesar's and Harrah's, it's not the same when it comes to big-time gamblers. Regardless of where they stay, the whales and big-time spenders will get whatever table they want for dinner in town, whatever shopping they want, and so on.

I worked for Harrah's Casino for three years as a 21 dealer in Mississippi in the 1990's. I really grew to despise that company for many reasons and hoping the man has a case. However, I don't think he has much of a leg to stand on, so to speak.

Harrah's does not cater to "high end" customers usually, but I see that he was playing at Caesars Palace. In my casino, anyone playing more than a grand would be stared at, hassled for their players card, etc. Harrah's clientele were "average" people who played $5 a hand, who loses $200 bucks and goes home happy because he was comped a ****ty casino buffet. They did not want the so called "big action" especially on the tables.

Offering perscription drugs is a felony, and I doubt this casino would risk their gaming license. The casino is not responsible for anyone popping legal medication.

The whole "addicted gambler" thing is complete and utter bullcrap. A casino is a place of business, and there is no way for casino employees to know if someone is addicted or not. Hell, most casino employees, including bosses and owners did not go to college, much less be doctors.

Anyone over 21 with a reasonable amount of intellegence knows that the casino is going to beat you in the long run. If someone lost $100 million dollars (especially to f'ing Harrah's for god sakes) this just means that they were complete and utter morons. Moron. More of a moron even, than someone who spent their wealth on crack or heroin. At least the drug addict gets high. The gambler is just broke.

Like I said, would love to see Harrah's lose a lawsuit. Wont happen though.
