I'm trying to decide whether to install them as part of a remodel, and honestly, I can't recall ever seeing a home with them, not even expensive luxury homes. Are they just not common in Las Vegas? I have no interest in them, but if it will make the house easier to sell in future, I'll put the heating mats in the floor and just not wire it up until it's time to sell the house.

I've heard that in areas where it is hot in the summer they aren't common, even if it gets cold in the winter because people think "why the hell would I ever want to heat the bathroom floor?"

i dont think that common anywhere I grew up in the Northwest where its cold as (insert adjective) and its not common there either... i would save your money and do a smart of money effiecent remodel...

If you house is in vegas its really not a great time to sell. its hard for homeowners to compete with the forclosures with dominate about 90% of the market. i found an awesome house in green valley made my offer and thankfully it was rejected...

because i got a very very nice house in a seriously great spot. when it was sold a couple years ago it sell price was 350 i bought it for less then half of that... seriously you will never recoup the money you spend for doing it...

My house in Las Vegas is a vacation home. I will probably always own a second home in Las Vegas since it costs practically nothing, but I might want to sell it and buy something on a golf course in the future.

No, they are more common in colder climates.

Not needed in Las Vegas, even with tile floors. But most homes here have what some people like to call wall to wall carpeting; since it's the most common, we just call it carpeting. It's even in the bathrooms, so be sure to stand close.
