NinjaKixx, I work at Nellis and go up to Creech every so often for meetings/tests, etc. The drive is about 45 minutes from Nellis to Creech. If you want the access to Nellis for shopping, etc then living in the NW is the best solution. You'd be about 20-30 minutes from Creech and 20-30 minutes from Nellis (depending on exactly where you live) and 20-30 minutes to the strip. Only downside is you are about 30-40 minutes to the airport.

That said, the NW is a good safe part of town. If you are looking for a more "upity" part of town where the drive is still managable to Creech you can look at Summerlin. That is on the west side of town and would make a drive to Creech about 35 minutes and about 30 minutes to the base.

That is in Providence...which is fine. A little awkward to get to 95 for the commute to Creech but livable.

I will send you the whole eligible NW by DM...There are 80 or so to chose from.

Have Fun...

Indian Springs has very little to offer, other than a very short commute. Not much housing or any thing else for that matter.

One of those you can't get there from here places.

You have to back track to at least some degree to 95 as none of the roads that head north are completed.

Basically you have to head east on Grand Teton than back to Durango and pick up 95 north bound. Maybe 6 miles out of the way. Eventually you will be able to pick up the 95 service road and cut up to Kyle Canyon which will save a couple of miles.

In some years the north bound roles will be completed and you will be able to head north from Providence to Kyle Canyon and across to 95. Not soon though.

The north roads may be actually passable at least with a four wheel drive. They look tough right now though

We live at Grand Teton & Tenaya area. Commute to Nellis is 35 minutes at normal traffic hours. Being reassigned to Creech in August. Tested the drive and its 40 minutes, more distance, but less lights.

Look for something as close to the Durango/ I-95 exchange as possible. That puts you almost 1/2 way between the bases. Nellis convenient enough for shopping, pharmacy, etc... at that distance.
