Generally speaking, most electronics will fail relatively quickly or go on to last for years. Costco warranties the TVs they sell for two years. At today's price points, two years is enough for me. Two years or so is just about my personal upgrade cycle for PCs, laptops, televisions, cell phones, etc. Sometimes I don't even make it that long.

That has been my experience with electronics (it fails immediately or not at all). And if you buy it at Sam's or Costco, they allow you to return it with NO questions asked.
