I am now in SoCal paying about $530/6 months for a VW GTI -06, and I have 100/300 coverage. I called Geico today (whom I am currently insured with) and they said it would cost me over $1000/6 months when I relocate to Vegas. I guess it's time to shop around...

It's be good to know the deductable levels everyone is carrying if they have that coverage.

The wife and my insurance for a 06 325i and 08 Escape Hybrid is about $145/month with 50/100/100 liability, uninsured and $100 comp, $200 collision deductables with 30/900 rental and roadside service ($1/month per car - way cheaper than AAA). We are with USAA.

Well, I finally got around to transferring my car insurance policy from my State Farm agent in D.C. to one in Nevada. My insurance went up 58% (roughly $40/month) for the exact same coverage:

Car: Lexus SC430

The following are the coverages and line item charges for six months:

Liability: 250k/500k/100k -------------$344.51
Comprehensive (no deductible): ---------97.99
Collision ($1000 deductible) ------------131.50
Emergency Road Service -----------------3.10
Car rental/travel expense ---------------16.20
Uninsured motor vehicle 100/300 -------101.66
TOTAL:----------------------------- $ 694.96

In Maryland, I was paying $367.48 for six months. When I moved to D.C. in November, it went up to $439.87. And now here in Las Vegas, it has gone up to $694.96.

That is a significant increase.

2005 Mazda MPV (minivan) $409/ 6 months
2004 Hyundai Sonata (LX-V6) $458/ 6 months

$100k/$200k/$50k
Comp & Collision w/ $500 deductible

Rate includes rental reimbursement for the Mazda @ $11/ 6 months

Insured through USAA.

It was approx. $100/ 6 months per vehicle LESS in Arizona. That perplexes me since we were so much closer to the border there.

I assume the above statement was made in reference to earlier comments addressing stolen cars in Las Vegas. However, you may want to compare your policies on a line-by-line basis. The only significant change in mine was for liability coverage. Everything else was virtually identical to what I was paying in D.C. My agent explained that liability coverage is much more expensive here here because L.V. is #1 in DUIs. The stolen car stat is a non-issue.

That is a large increase, but for that car what you are paying is actually dirt cheap. I just put the same exact coverage for a quote with Progressive which I have. This is what I came up with.

Effect on Premium for Remainder of Policy Term

Quote Effective Date: 04/02/2010 Policy Term:01/27/2010 to 07/27/2010 Premium Change:$756.00 increase from 04/02/2010 to 07/27/2010
Effect on Premium for the Entire Policy Term

The following information is provided for comparison purposes only. Premium Prior to Change:$278.00 Premium After Change:$1,459.00
Difference:$1,181.00 increase

We got a pretty good rate. We have businesses and residence in Seattle, LA, and Las Vegas so we need several cars in case we need to fly in without our cars. Our 2000 Honda Accord, 09 Audi Q7, 2010 Mercedes E350, 09 Mercedes S550, and 09 Audi A6 cost a little more than $600/month. That's about $120/each car/month . My bf does all the insurance, but from what he says it's max coverage with either 250-500 deductible.
