and Vegas isn't one of them! So for those who really feel doom and gloom about Vegas just know that there are cities out there much worse off!

Here is the Forbe's article: Cleveland tops list of miserable U.S. cities - U.S. business- msnbc.com

And here is the list of the top 20 and how they were picked (note: several are in California!): In Pictures: America's 20 Most Miserable Cities - America's 20 Most Miserable Cities - Forbes.com

I don't recall ever being on a "miserable city" list.

I do remember that we've been on the "lonely city list (most foreclosed homes) and most dangerous city list, fastest growing city list, most vehicles stolen list, most desirable place to live list.

Geez, we made a lot of lists! LOL

We are going to see Airics in this thread very quickly. I like Airics, so I am glad he came here as he came from the number 1 city on the miserable list.

That's great logic. Gas is higher in Germany so we should be glad it's not as high. There are worse places so we should think all is well.

There are very few places with higher unemployment, and perhaps none with higher foreclosure rate. But eventually there will be... so rejoice!

Looking over the criteria used and the categories listed in order for a city to be considered "miserable", unemployment seems to be one of the first components for a city to be highlighted on this list.

From the article dated today from Forbes:

"Our Misery Measure takes into account unemployment, as well as eight other issues that cause people anguish."

Cleveland tops list of miserable U.S. cities - U.S. business- msnbc.com

According to the survey results, foreclosure rates in the Las Vegas Valley, along with all the other determining factors that made cities appear on this complilation, just weren't enough for LV to warrant a Top 20 spot on the survey results.

So yes, there are places out there in worse shape than us.

It isn't a miserable city, but sure does have a top 20 share of miserable people. Some of these seniors you have to deal with are classic, still upset today about getting shortchanged a quarter a week ago.
