Those Pomi tomatoes are over $3 for a small package. ($3.39 at Two Whole Paychecks(whole foods.)That can get quite pricey if someone eats a lot of canned tomato products. I think I will stick to my no salt added Fresh and Easy canned tomatoes for just 69cents a can.

Those better be some damned good tomatoes to go through all that hassle. Now if it was seaweed salad I would understand...

You might try e-mailing Heidi Rinella at the RJ. She has an article that comes out on Wednesdays in the RJ (TASTE OF THE TOWN: Readers to the rescue in sauce search - Taste - ReviewJournal.com) where readers ask for certain food items and other readers reply where they've found it.

I emailed once looking for Halvah and she told me where I could find it.

Sorry I can contribute no info about 6 in 1, but may I offer the name of my favorite brand? They are Muir Glen Organics. I favor the type specified as "Fire Roasted," recommended to me by a California Italian caterer. It bumped my usual red sauce up a couple of notches with no other changes to the recipe. I've also used the non-Fire-Roasted Muir Glen tomato types (e.g. Crushed with Garlic and Basil or just plain whole tomatoes) for other recipes (e.g. vegetable soup) and liked them better than other brands, but the Fire Roasted is da bomb.

They may be available many places in LV, but I know for sure Sunflower Farmers Market carries them (Tropicana & Pecos or Rainbow & Flamingo).

There's no comparison. I'd use Muir Glen in an emergency, but there is a reason why people search far and wide to get 6-in-1.

Those fire roasted Muir Glen tomatoes are the best! I buy the no salt added one's now that they carry it and it's the same price as the regular for once. And i'm not blown away by all the salt in the regular varieties.
