What would you do to reach a bigger demographic? If you had access to the best marketing tools what would you do to increase your income. There are many promotional tools out there. If you had an unlimited marketing budget what would you use.

A friend of mine is opening a marketing firm for small business owners here in vegas to help keep the mom and pop shops from having to close their doors. I was asked to do some research for them to see what the local business owner feels they need, are lacking, or could use improvment in their current marketing plan.

Did you try contacting the chamber of commerce when they have their meetings? As a small business owner we have belonged to the local chamber of commerce's when we first moved to a community and met other folks that way and networked.

Also there check out vegasvipevents.com that is a networking site that different business's find out where events are held for business networking.

Here is another networking site that may be helpful:

That question is probably too broad based to answer. The small mom and pop store that sells specialty foods has a different market from the small shop that sells electronics products or catering or decorating services. What would work for one with an unlimited budget could be a pure waste of money for the other business owner.

very true, but the question is asked in a broad way that the business itself is part of the main focus, i am sorry i should have been more clear about it. As i said my friend is opening a marketing firm so i would like to hear what business do you have or know of and what tools would that specific business need.

Mailers or ads in community newspapers attract me to small businesses.

That is such a broad general question. I'm a marketing exec. and In this town I've found that telemarketing and knocking on doors works best. Selling products to consumers or b2b HERE in Vegas in THIS economy is a huge challenge. Our first few attempts with creative marketing outside-the-box ideas fell flat.
