Default City Center Cut-Through

I don't know whether this is well-known, but in case it isn't, I thought I'd share something interesting I've discovered. Harmon goes completely through City Center and there is no traffic on it whatsoever. It is a great way to get across the Strip from the east side of town to the west (or vice versa) without waiting in traffic on Flamingo or Tropicana.

I've been playing poker most evenings at the Hard Rock, and it is a great way for me to get to and from there with little or no traffic. Not only is there no back-up at the intersection of Harmon and L.V. Blvd., but once you cross over heading west, there aren't any cars period. I've been taking Harmon to Polaris and then picking up Tropicana from there.

As I said, it avoids all of the congestion on Trop around the I-15 and the intersections with L.V.Blvd, Koval, and Paradise.

When do you run into issues on Tropicana? Harmon is the one that gives me trouble between the Strip and Paradise with the construction.

I usually head down to the Hard Rock somewhere between midnight and 2:00am, and then return home between 6-8. In the afternoons, I head over there between 4-6pm, and usually reverse the trip shortly thereafter. I haven't run into any active construction yet.

I'm not really having any issues with Tropicana (as long as I stay out of the left lane which backs up with everyone trying to turn into the MGM valet), I just thought that Harmon was a nice relaxing drive with virtually no cars whatsoever going across the Strip and through City Center. The scenery is incredible as well.

When I was visiting last summer we were staying at the luxor and we went out the back garage and found some service road that we took and we made it to TI in less than a couple minutes.

My friend lives by UNLV and going from his house to the strip down tropicana was a pain. Especially with them working on the intersection.
