I never made it inside HoB (had tickets for Etta James, concert was canceled, and she died shortly afterward), but it is a showroom in the gigantically huge Mandalay Bay resort hotel/casino. I could be wrong, but I seriously doubt if it is like any other town where the band tries to escape out the back door to go to their hotel after the show. I imagine Mandalay Bay IS their hotel. In Las Vegas they usually just go up to their rooms, perhaps after waiting for the showroom to empty, or they head out into the casino, or one of the other lounges or showrooms in the hotel. Vegas is different than even NY or LA. In fact, truth be known, New York and LA are kind of lame compared to Las Vegas.

All the major hotels have bathroom attendants. Just ignore them. You don't have to tip.

Thanks, this is just the info I was looking for. I've never been to a concert venue like this, so I had no idea it was in the Hotel, thank you so much! It looks like the weekend is going a (well managed) party! Thank you everyone for your trips, I really appreciate it.

I've found it very difficult to find any information online about public/customer parking for House of Blues, and back of venue information, where the bands tour buses park. Does anyone here have any good tips for having a great time at House of Blues, or the Joint, in Las Vegas? I'd like to try to meet the bands that are playing, but with Las Vegas that's doubtful, and I don't want to drive into Las Vegas with no idea of where to park so I'm not far from House of Blues. Also, does anyone know the best place to just get a drink and relax near House of Blues? Thanks for any help!
Last time I was there, the hotels all had good sized parking. If you are worried about parking, they have a double decker bus that runs between downtown and near the airport on the strip you could ride for a few dollars. At least it was running when I was last there. I think it ran until 2 or 3AM. I did not have a car at all when I was there. The only difficulty is getting to and from the airport- the airport is "off limits" to all public transportation whether it is the double decker bus (which stops near but not at) or the monorail thingy they have. I guess the taxi and limo drivers there have lots of political muscle and keep any competition out of the airport. But outside of that, getting around without a car is easy.

A dollar for the bathroom guy is not going to break anybody's ass. If you don't have a buck to tip, you should not be going to Vegas anyway. That man needs to make his living too.

KevK, for most every other service I receive in Vegas, I wholeheartedly agree. But do I really need to flip some one a buck for handing me a paper towel? Ugh. The irony is, I most often do tip the wash room attendant but it's the one person I do so begrudgingly. I tip because I can't imagine what it must be like to stand around in a men's room all day.

The Joint-Rouge is one of the best venue for concerts in Vegas, a bit larger than the original Joint, sound system is great. I have seen many concerts at the House of Blues, great venue as well, there used to be a gigantic chandelier hanging from the cieling, I think they took it out and sold it. It was so massive if it fell during a concert, it would have killed all the concert goers below. Just a morbid thought.

I avoided the touristy areas quite often when I lived there

Not necessary true. I know some bands hop on their buses and hit the road to the next town.

That being said I don't know where the HOB loading area is, or if its even easily accessible unless you have credentials.

T...I think in most hotels the rest room attendant is self employed. He/she doesn't have to be there; it's a concession. But when you use any of the supplies provided on the sinks it was usually paid for by the attendant who hopes to get his/her money back in tips, plus profit. But you have the right to just use the paper towels from the rack or the hand blowers for free.
