Have not been to Vegas lately, but I heard that US 95 was shut down between Railroad Pass and Searchlight due to the dust from the high winds

When I was there in March, I was hanging out on the strip one day, it was sunny and 80 dgerees, next thing I knew it was cloudy and 60 degrees with 50+ mph winds I headed straight for the Bellagio after that started

Did not expect that

McCarran had the second highest April wind gust on record at 6:17pm yesterday (63 knots), so yes, yesterday was unusually windy. Springs in the valley are always windy.

Those of you who suffer from allergies are likely feeling the pollen much more than the wind-blown dust, though. Pollen counts on a scale of 1-10 have been running 9.5+ for the past two weeks. My allergies are freakin' killing me right now (and yes, the wind/dust just makes them even worse)!

I hear that. My allergies are off the charts. Zyrtec has actually been working for me though.

All I know is darn it I dusted Tuesday and by late yesterday I had a layer of sand- not dust but SAND on everything

Typical spring wind but the temps are cooler than I can remember in recent years. We've been here 12 years now.

It's been very windy in Arizona, too. I thought it was just the trouble stirring things up.

Seriously, my allergies are in overdrive, too. Zyrtec works for me ... at least I think it does. I cut the pills in half, take that wee amount and sleep for two days and dream my eyes are burning -- not as bad as feeling it when I'm awake.

Tell me about it. That is exactly when I was getting ready to push off of the gate. A rough day indeed.

The months of Feb and March tend to have the windiest days in Vegas but this year was an exception, any weather forecasters out there? Hehehe.

Off and On the Vegas Strip

The plus side to this wind, is that my thought came true yesterday. One of those "Hot Girls direct to you" mobile billboards that are oh so thin, tipped over on Las Vegas Blvd yesterday morning! lol

Heyyyyyy! Some of us guys enjoy those BBs. Besides the family that owns them are friends of mine ─ very nice regular folks.
