All the regular posters here know Im 20, and I have retail experience, as well as food service experience about (4 years total experience in both fields combined)

Let's say hypothetically; Considering my age, industries in which I have work experience, and the current state of the economy, if I were to show up in LV tomorrow and at the very least got a health card, and was really persistent (pounding the pavement all day filling out apps and making tons of follow up calls) about how long do you think it would take to land a job with sufficient pay ($8.50 hr+) and more then 30 hours a week?

Job market here in Vegas is the worst I've seen in my 20+ years in the area. Even when the economy was bad elsewhere, Vegas always seemed to thrive....not now. It's bad

This is very bad news to hear. I was accepted into a limmited entry nursing program at CSN and Im from out-of-state. My experience is in IT, specifically 10 years of Microsoft Web Development. I've posted my resume on Monster.com and all the big names, and not even 1 hit. I have to have a job in order for me to move to Las Vegas. Whats up with the job market there??

It is everywhere, not only Las Vegas. Soon, there will be no jobs at all and Las Vegas will totally collapse. Have you ever heard of this organization?

INAFJ. The "I Need A Freakin Job" Movement

You never would have seen anything like this 5 years ago.

It is like that all over. Not just LV. In Georgia you could always find work. Not anymore. Not even at the fast food joints that used to beg for help.

Again, if someone was towing a family...or they are a person who loves to buy houses right away....particularly 'dream' houses....and significantly WORSE if a person combines those factors....AND doesn't have a plan or or a clue about anything....
thats not very nice... my hubby and I bought our dream house just because thats where we wanted to live. affordable, beautiful, large city, stuff to do so we wont be bored....

ok so not much luck on the job front yet but we are still searching... just not in a big hurry either, unfortunatly we are job hunting from afar.
