I was stationed at Nellis AFB from 1983 through 1991 while in the US Air Force. I was a big movie buff and recall seeing a lot of flicks at the Redrock 11, Cinedomes (on Decatur), Century Desert 15 (on Lamb, I think), and the old Sunrise 7 which I think was on Nellis Blvd.

I think most, if not all, of these have since been closed/demolished. Can anyone confirm? I've since retired from the USAF and live in Arizona, but have lots of fond memories of Vegas in the 1980's.

Yeppers, those old theaters bring back memories. The old Cinedome, when it had one big, curved screen, was really cool. And Red Rock, with its town square, was a great place too. The theater on Lamb was originally a drive-in. It was fun to back your pick up in to a spot and break out the lounge chairs (or sleeping bags) to watch movies from the bed of the truck. Sorry to tell you they are all gone. I believe this Fandango site lists all the theaters we have now. Movie Theater Showtimes Near 89129

Sorry, but the Cinedome, on the NE corner of Decatur and DI Rd., has been a supermarket for years, and the Red Rock the OP is referring to was on Charleston a block west of Decatur ...not the theaters in Red Rock Casino.

One other that I can recall was right next to the Boulevard Mall (before it was renovated). I think it was called the Parkway 3, or something to that effect. It was somewhat off the beaten path for a theatre, kind of tucked into a corner. I remember seeing "Top Gun" and "Red Dawn" there.
