Ideas? One. Why? Everyone I've ever known (and I've known a few) hated their mothers for doing that to them.

Having said that, a warning. Most of the time you will just run into ripoffs. People who promote baby contests for instance are just taking advantage of mothers who think their kid is the world's cutest...which is all mothers. Of course there is always a fee to enter. I am telling you this from experience. Then there are the so called "modeling agencies" who want to sign you (or your kid) up for a "fee". Once they get the fee in hand, they will just tell you that they haven't been able to find a booking for you. If you just can't stop yourself from persuing it, find a legitimate photographer, one that comes highly recommended, and has the credentials to show for it, and preferably one who can help you create a portfolio. Once you have the portfolio, which won't be cheap, it will take a lot of leg work. You will need to sort out the legitimate modeling agencies from the crooks, find ones that take on kids as clients, make an appointment to show the portfolio, and sign up with them. I do not believe that a legitimate agency would ask for a fee of any kind up front unless they can prove there is some kind of actual expense. They should get their money from whomever is hiring your kid, not from you. So you should be able to sign up with as many as will take you on. I suppose that, just like you see in the movies, you'll have to nudge them ever so often so they don't forget you.

HAHAHHAA, sure, my son might not appreciate his modeling portfolio when he's 17....but I just thought it would be a cute idea for now...im not trying to be one of those obsessed parents that forces thier child into show-biz. As soon as he shows signs that he doesnt want to do it (whether that means by verbally telling me, or just by his behavior/attitude) then its over.

Im not gullible enough to send someone my money with no services provided to me yet.....after i wrote this thread I found a couple of places that are with the Better Business Bureau so I might look into them....

eh...on second thought, im too lazy. forget it.

The BBB will recommend anyone who is a member. That's how they blackmail you into joining. If you aren't a member they will make you sorry you didn't join.
