I'll be moving from NYC to Las Vegas in 2-3 weeks with my young family. I'm interested in renting a home for a year in the 89129 zip code (or surrounding area). Could some of you locals fill me in regarding the pros and cons of living in this part of town. How are the schools, parks, people, crime rate, homes, etc.... Thanks guys and please be honest and direct .

P.S. What type of home can I rent for $2000-$2500 per month in the 89129 area?

Watch you email. Note that 89149 is next door, very similar and may have some advantages..

Note that I and Buzz on this list live in 89129...so ask away on anything specific.

I have lived in the 89129 area for 11+ years with my family,I have grown up here! The area is very nice and clean. I have never had any problems living in this are. Everything is kind of far apart depending on what area you are trying to move to, but recently more commercial props. have been put up. Another great area of Vegas is SW..Mountains Edge area. Look into that too. Lots of families with younger kids are now over there.
