I believe that immigration should get this thing straight before letting anyone be a part of this nation..in some cases we see gangsters,drug addicts,criminals {color=red]Mod Cut[/color] here and there,we should have a plan before letting them in here some of them know how to fight and shoot,them make them volunteer for a year to serve the country either cleaning or being in the army..immigrants like me should be more patriot to this country beacuse it saved our lifes..GO USA

Oh i completely agree. I hate hearing immigrants complain. I live in Canada, and my father is an immigrant, but you'd have a hard time finding a family more patriotic than mines. Certainly due to situations out of our control. Like my grandfather leaving a wartorn country and starting a new life in one of the only places that gave him a chance AND actually becoming very successful. I drive a bmw and im barely in my 20's, heck if it wasnt for my country my grandparents would have have been dead, buried in a ditch somewhere in east Africa. I would die for my country because of everything its given me.

Immigrants can complain as much as they want, but it doesn't make them any less patriotic. It just shows a willingness to analyze the situation of the country and exercise their freedom of expression. There are plenty of problems with this country and to make it better, the attitude of "bury your head in the sand, everything is great in the greatest country in the world" is not going to contribute any solutions.

I agree about military service though. Any able bodied person should serve 1-2 years. It's good for you.

do not threw everybody in the same pot!!!..not all the immigrants come from mexico or from a poor financial background...i am european married to an american..USA did not save my life!!I come from a seven digits european familly with zero debts and i do not need any help in usa or i do not need Usa to save me in any way!!I am because of love hier in usa,but we intend to live 6 month europe,6 months usa!If i love my american husband,does not necesarily mean i have to love everything in usa!!Guess what??I do not!You have to be a patriot in your heart and not a forced one!!thorugh army or whatever!!!I will always love Europe,USA will never replace Europe in my heart and i will always be an european patriot,Europe comes for me first!I do not need to change that or be forced to change that!!I do not need to clean or being in the army,this is absolutely stupid such a statement...and junior??he loves both..he is a double patriot..he loves california,but also europe...he just feels this way and nobody can force him to feel different...you can not force that!!

Actually, The Immigration and Naturalization system WILL NOT allow someone with a criminal background to become a legal resident in the US. If you have previous "run-ins" with the law (AKA, felonies) you will not be granted a green card and therefore you will not be able to legally enter the US.

I applaud you for being a model citizen, but there are other ways to serve this country other than being in the military. You can serve in shelters or be a volunteer in some charity organization that is trying to have a positive impact in our society.

And not every country outside the USA is a dictatorship or a hell-hole. Immigrants should want to improve the USA, but the can remember their heritage.

If some things were done better in their home country, then the USA should welcome debate or suggestions as to how the country can function better.

Where did you get this idea from? You may be confusing legal immigrants with illegals.

Legal immigrants go through very thorough background check done by FBI. Hardly anyone with a criminal record can get green card or even extension of stay if they haven't been deported after time served in prison.

As a matter of fact, you may want to check the criminal background of citizens and see how many of them pass. I bet you the percentage of them having criminal records is way higher than legal immigrants.

Please get your facts straight and please READ and UNDERSTAND the word "legal immigrant".

i agree and every immigrant should bring his contribution on the best way he can...i am pacifist,i do not suport wars ..i woudl never enroll in army..but like you said,there are other things that each individual can bring and enrich...for example i consider,i best bring german organisation talent..i also come from a backgorund,that can handle finances excellent,germans knows,how to save,how to handle finances..americans are very open to learn and i met so many people,who wanted to learn a better way to handle money,ways to save,especially women...i impacted many lifes...and not only with a different thinking regarding finances,shopping,live over the own mean..but also a simple example...my salads...my salads were very succesful..i am so happy to see,how succesful my salades are..i am thinking to publish an e book hier in usa with the european salads i make (although i am writting another book right now for europe,my new start in usa)..an e book with pictures and exact description,for one dollar,so everybody can afford it..women hier were very succesful with it in losing weight...i impacted their life,made them think about their exterior and help them lose weight with my salads...so i will bring european salads(some of them for years in my familly), not pizza and put american women on diet..smile..
i hate earthquakes hier in california..was in a bad mood,because we have just had one...but it changed,when i got a greta thank you letter from northcalifornia from a woman,who lost many kgs through my salad and this changed competely her life...such things makes life easier and we can help each other..and all strated with me open her eyes about her exterior..

You guys are making me laugh. All of us are immigrants except for those from Native clans, even them are immigrants.

There's nothing wrong to complain. Being patriotic is about doing what is right for the country and conform to the Constitution.

As far as I can see, raking up a huge debt is extremely unpatriotic!
