How many Japanese immigrants emigrate to the united states? (GC, citizen, America)

Does anybody know how many japanese immigrants emigrate to the united states every year? The reason why i am asking is because i heard that not alot of japanese are immigrating to the united states currently and i wish more large numbers of japanese did come to the united states even though there country is well developed.

The number who immigrated to the US in 2009 must be less than 15,200 as they aren't on a list of countries by LPR flow that cuts out at that point.

The number of Japanese who "naturalized" into the US in 2009 was 2,192. For the years 2000 to 2009 the number was generally between 1790 and 2720.

They have a higher quality of life than we do with our economy in the tank and jobs scarcity a couple of noteworthy reasons. IMO the only reason any would want to emigrate is to reunite with family. Surely not for a "better life".

Japan's economy is also in the tank like the united states and japan' is in very long and deep recession which is also causing there economy to shrink alot every year which means the japanese immigration to the united states might go up again.

My wife who is a Japanese citizen got her GC so we did not have to deal with hassles of traveling and worrying about keeping her student Visa. Once I or her find a job in Japan we will go there and live. From my time there it is much better living then being in the U.S. currently.

Japan is having a lot of economic problems and that have;t really gotten out of the woods in terms of their lost decade yet.

I was in Japan this past Spring and took a tour of their Central Bank. Appears they have a serious financial problem however as some have noted their living standards appear to be better than Americans. So for a Japanese immigrating to America it might be a step backwards.
