Default Getting British passport for kid

I was born in England and have been a Canadian citizen for many years, now it seems my Canadian born 20yr old daughter wants to go spend some time in England, she reckons if she can get a British passport she will be able to work while she is over there.
Would she be eligible to get a British passport on the strength of my being born in England and if so what would be required for her documentwise to start working over there?.

Thanks

Just get a passport application form from the British consulate - they will likely want her and your birth certificates etc. - shouldn't be a problem. Her British passport is the only documentation she will need to look for a job. Bear in mind that she will not be able to claim any benefits such as unemployment so she will need enough savings to live off while she looks for work. (there is a 6-month residency requirement before any benefits can be claimed). Also, as she will have no UK credit history, she may need to pay as much as 6 months rent up front for a flat etc.

Check here:

How to apply from Canada

The notes will tell you whether she is eligible or not. My children for example are British but will not be able to pass their citizenship along unless their spouses are British born citizens, because both were born outside of the UK.
