Yes what drives Mexican here is the money. Why would anyone want to work manual labor there making 10.00 a day when they can come here and make that per hour.
They pay a price though, getting across the border is not cheap and is often high risk of assault. Many guys crossing border get robbed by people both from Mexico and U.S. who are there to rob them and many women get raped who are also there to prey on them. I aksed someone was it really worth it to come here what she went through to cross, she said now yes but at that time she regretted it. And on top of that they paid thousands. I once took a bus in Tijuana to Juarez and we passed a back mountain route there was like 15 guys flagging us down I was scared as the bus is nice and was thinking they were gonna rob us. But they were the ones robbed and the robbers held them hostage for 2 days with no water and took all thier money while attempting to cross illegally.
I also know people from Mexico who don't like U.S and have opportunity to come here but choose not to. Mexico is not one color it has many kinds of people not all are desperate to come here.

They love the money more than anything, if it was so awful for them they wouldn't pay cartel smugglers $5000 to be smuggled over.
As bad as the economy was for Americans in 2011, remittances to Mexico were way way up in 2011. Government handouts are another big plus.

I drove by the fields on highway 101 in California a month ago. As I drove past the dozens of workers in the field on a nice Saturday afternoon, I noticed the cars parked near the fields. There wasn't a bunch cheap jalopies but cars no different than you would see in the parking lot of any American factory. When I see immigrants in the stores they seemed to be dressed nice their kids seem dressed nice. Why is it when I go into the city I am accosted by dozens of young Americans at every turn shabbily dressed and begging for quarters? Don't they know that this "Better Life" that Mexicans come here for is also there for them too?

Mexico has always had a lower unemployment rate than the USA, and currently their unemployment rate is about half ours. They have a growing middle class but it requires responsibility to become part of that middle class. Mexico doesn't load them down with food stamps, pay them to have babies.
And there is no indication that any illegals went home in 2011 -- remittances to Mexico were higher than ever. Mexicans have all that much more money left over at the end of the month to send out of this country -- in fact remittances to Mexico were considerably up in 2011.

Ya, that formula has absolutely thrashed our public school system anywhere near the border. I don't think Teachers realized they were going to be forced to raise kids whose Parents are ESL.

The US educational system started to fail way before that. You should do better research before spouting such generalizations.

Why is it that the Mexican government says that if there were no demand for drugs in the USA, there would be no drug traffic, yet they blame us for the importation of guns into their country. Doesn't it hold true that if there were no demand for guns on their end, there would be no gun traffic? Mexico is a corrupt government that blames the US for all of their problems and weak American politicians allow them to. There is no excuse for poverty in Mexico. Very few countries have been as blessed. They have great climate, tourism, are an oil producing nation, have ocean and beaches and fishing, and much farmland. They should be one of the wealthiest nations in the world. Yet they live in poverty and blame the US for all their problems. If they are so worried about US guns being smuggled into their country, why don't they support our building a wall, or better yet, build one of their own. Answer: because they want to continue to export their poverty to a very stupid northern neighbor.

That's the big joke of our unemployment and welfare programs. We pay Americans a whole lot of money to lie around and do nothing, so don't be surprised when they do.
Yes there are good paying jobs that the illegals are taking, and remittances to Mexico in 2011 were way way up - something like 9% higher than ever. Illegals are doing very very well, they have no trouble getting jobs and have lots of money left over to send back.
And in spite of very high unemployment, legal immigrations is also way up, we have millions of people coming here to get in on the so-called bad economy that is wonderful in their minds.

NBC owns the spanish T.V. station Telemundo. The Texas Pacific Group owns the spanish T.V. station Univision. We all know these television stations need spanish speaking people to profit. The question is, how much money do these spanish T.V. station owners funnel to our politicians to keep the borders open? Are politicians granting amnesty to illegals to keep a money flow from spanish T.V. stations?
