Question I want to migrate to US or Canada

Hello Friends,

I am a newbie on this site and saw really useful information on this thread.
So thought of taking recommendations and suggestions regarding immigration to US or Canada.

About me I would say, I am an Indian citizen, born and raised in Mumbai city.
I have done my Masters in Business Management from Mumbai University and a certificate course - Executive Programme in Business Management (EPBM) from IIM Kolkata.Currently pursuing Masters in Industrial Psychology expected to complete by Dec '12.

I have 9 yrs of experience in Customer Service, Operations and Key Account Management. Been a Team Leader with Fedex Project in WNS Global Service Pvt Ltd, worked 5 yrs with WNS. Later worked as Operations Manager with CMS Securitas Pvt Ltd. Currently working with Writer Corporation as a Strategic Account Manager.

Apropos my spouse, he has done his Master of Computer Applications (MCA) with 5 yrs of experience in IT domain. For 3 yrs, he worked ith Accenture and currently working with Mastek as a Senior Software Engineer for last 2 yrs.

Need your help and advice, how do we go about it as we are very keen to migrate.

Regards,
Sheela

This site will give you all the information you need about immigration to the US:

USCIS Home Page

and this will give you the information you need for Canada:

http://www.www.cic.gc.ca/english/ (broken link)

As far as the US is concerned you can either be sponsored by a US employer who has to prove that no US citizen can fill the vacancy or you could try the diversity lottery if eligible. Another possibility is being employed by a multinational corporation with offices in the US to which you might be transferred. It's not an easy route and I wouldn't hold out too much hope for your prospects but these official sites will point you in the right direction. Good luck.

Good luck with your effort, but I would think your prospects would be quite good in India in the near future. America is in decline economicaly and India is ascending.

Well then, if you're young enough to recover from what might be a less than perfect decision, go for it.

Default Advice

Hi Sheela,

With this type of education you and your husband should be able to qualify.
Depending on which province you want to move to in Canada, usually Quebec is the easiest.
But you'll need 1st level French (a few months practice)
I immigration 12 years ago and it went very well. Moderator cut: Advertising. Please DM for info.

Etheir way, good luck on your journey!

Claud605: Thanks for your advise.

AnnaM123: Your suggestion was good and I am giving a try this time. However, wanted to know do they need any certification on French course while trying for Quebec?
