Over time I met a lot of first generation immigrants starting in the 80s. The generation before them seems to have "gone native". They wear a badge.
What happend to principles such as reach out, give a hand, help a fellow human ...? I, me and mine?
We actually have something in common but I do not share the decision with a panel.

Your attitude is a slap in the face to all those people who have respected the law and gone through the arduous process of becoming a legal immigrant, then a permanent resident and then a US citizen.
It is much more than a small piece of plastic. It is respect for the people, for the the laws and for the institutions of the United States.

As convaluted as Us immigration law is - to some it is still the land of opportunity and worth going through a lot of hardship to improve their lives or at least the lives of their children.

There is no way to change the minds of the puppies-and-rainbows set.
They rationalize the breaking of laws, rationalize the inability and lack of desire of the US government to secure its own borders and account for its population, disregard the notion that an unsecured border could not just mean the entering by desperate Mexicans but also desperate terrorists, and minimize the financial burden that untold millions of illegals incur on this country through the social services, education and health care systems.
It completely defies logic - both on this board and at the highest levels of government in this land, that they would sanction the entry of who knows how many millions of unknowns illegally into this country.

The best advice would be see an immigration attorney.
I don't see much relief available for someone with no USC relatives who came in illegally.
As for some comments:
I don't care about this it's coming for a better a better life garbage, they need to do it LEGALLY and follow the laws of the United States. Also all immigrants in the United States legal or illegal can and should pay taxes. You are given a tax ID number which has nothing to do with immigration status.

Perhaps this topic should be closed? It seems that the OP has had their question addressed and this topic is now siderailing into a general discussion on illegal immigration. Which would be better dealt HERE.

To the OP:
Is it possible for you to contact an Immigration Attorney for a consultation to find out what kind of options this young woman has? She had no choice in coming here (at 10 years old!) so she didn't do anything illegal. However, she's now 18 and has to make some kind of move to get her status legal.

There's nothing wrong with going through hardship to improve your life or the life of your children. It's when you do it illegally and without integrity where it becomes a problem.
