Want to move to Canada but SELF-EMPLOYED (money, Europe, consulate)

I wonder if someone could provide some advice or information? I'm really struggling to find any useful info online.
I'm self-employed and I work with my partner, we're both Directors of our own company. We are a service company so could work anywhere in the world as long as we had the internet.
We're currently based in the UK, but we would like to move to Canada. As far as I can see the only way for us to legally do that is if one of us was employed by a local company, which we don't want to do, or if we invested a lot of money into the local area and employed people, which we can't do either.
Any self employed Europeans living in Canada, please could you advise, or anyone who know about Visas, immigration etc.
Have you thought of posting on the Canada forum, visited your nearest Canadian consulate?
I'd think that solely based on what you've said you can't do as far as investment/employing locals is concerned you may not have anything much to offer. Hopefully you'll be able to find the information you need. Good luck!
