form i-864 (application, sponsor, employment, evidence)

hello all,

My wife and i are filling out the forms to adjust my status. We are submitting form i-130 and i-485 together. my question is with form i-864:

1. do we need to submit this form i-864 along with the i-130 and i-485 or submit it later on?

2. My wife has not filed her taxes because she has been claimed as a dependent under her mums tax return. what information do we put for Part 6 of form i-864? What do you suggest we do?

She still has to fill out the I-864 and show them she was a dependent. But she should include her current employment status with a letter from the company showing her prospects and at least four pay stubs.

You will probably need a joint sponsor.

I'd go ahead and have that filled out too.

Mail it all in at the same time. 130/485/864/864A/joint864/693/131/765 and all the supporting documents for each form.

It's no guarantee they won't send you a request for evidence because part of the application packet got lost, so keep copies of everything you send in.

If they lose the 693 though, you'd have to get another sealed original. Just an FYI.
