green card holder out of USA (uscis, GC, renew, process)

Hi
I am presently out of the country and my GC expires in7 months. Can I renew it out of country?
Also if not how long will the process take as I am caring for elderly parents and my children are here inAustralia with me ,

you better see if you can get an extension and make sure they stamp that passport. but try to go home if can

Keep in mind if you are staying outside of the USA it is not automatically a guarantee it will be extended since a green card is meant to be for people who contribute to the USA and their economy and pay taxes over here, etc.

A certain time frame is allowed to stay away but if the time frame is very long it could mean not extension and losing the green card.

Keep in mind it is not a visa to travel in and out even though it makes traveling easier but that is not what it is meant to be for.
