I am a Legal Permanent Resident. I have two first names which are hyphenated in the foreign birth certificate (Lmmmm-Ghhhh) and non hyphenated in my current and all past foreign passports. My GC given name follows the passport unhyphenated version (Lmmmm Ghhhh). I read it was best to file the GC application with the passport version of the name so that's how I did it. Now my foreign passport is about to expire and I just learned hyphens will be automatically introduced between the given names in the newly issued passport.

Would this be a problem when traveling to and from US? Would I need to file an I-90 and ask for a name correction on GC once the new passport is issued? I read in some places USCIS does not care for hyphens regardless.

Thank you
