Hi Guys! Just want to ask something. My Dad is planning to transfer me in school here in US. And I'm enrolling for 9th Grade this School Year 2015-16. But, I finished my 8th Grade in the Philippines. I was just wondering if I need to repeat 8th Grade here in the US for me to able to go in 9th Grade. Thank you for your answer. God bless
A friend was in a similar situation and her boy took a placement test given by the school. The results determined in which grade he was placed. Good luck and have fun making new friends!
Okay! Thank you very much God bless you May the Lord guide me on my test..haha Have a nice day ahead )..Also, do me a favor.. Pray for me on my test to pass, so i will not repeat..haha! Thanks again
Use Google to find the school district you will be moving to and check on specific requirements. Often the school district is tied to the county. Let us know if you need help.

if you finished 8th grade (2nd yr high school) already , you will enroll in 9th grade. you need to take English test though
don't worry, if you are in private school in the Philippines, your course of study will be 1 year ahead when you enroll in public school in America
What could be the possible placement test questions?

Hi, just got here in the United States and I left the Philippines as a grade 11 student last December. I came from a Catholic private school. Is it really possible to be one year ahead? Or they'll still base my level to the placement test.
If it's based on the placement test, what lessons should I tackle in advance to secure my knowledge?
Hoping for your sincere reply.

I wouldn't take this too seriously. We had in the kids school twins from a private school in Manila. They were quite behind the other students (we are in a good public school district in the Northeast) and ended up being held back a year. They were good at cursive handwriting though - but that doesn't count for much nowadays.

Your math and English will be the most important. Most states have their old tests for math and English for each grade level online. I'd look for them if I were you.
