Default Do we NOT let in enough legal immigrants?

I've heard the argument time and time again that because we don't allow LEGAL Mexicans to come in, they have no choice but to come illegally.

What's the problem? Is it because we don't let ENOUGH Mexicans to come in, or what? I don't know the answer, and I've been wondering about it.

Anyone know?

I have read that we only allow 66,000 worker (h-2b temporary-seasonal) visas a year, that is from everywhere. I have also read that those visas go really fast and in fact 2008 quota was filled up in the matter of days.

H-2B Visa: Non-Immigrant Visa for Temporary Worker, Seasonal Worker

So if this hypothetical scenario comes to pass, what do you think every uneducated, unskilled Mexican will do, Jorge?

I do believe the H-2B visa is not the only way people enter this country legally. Here is data for naturalization by country for FY 2007. Check to see which country we took the most from - surprise!!! It's Mexico!!! As a matter of fact, nearly 20% of all naturalization was of Mexican-born individuals. That is of all the 100+ countries in the world!!

We are THE most welcoming country in the world. We offer visas and citizenship to more immigrants than ALL other countries combined. Why must we be responsible for providing for the entire world? Furthermore, why should Mexico receive preferential treatment simply due to their proximity to the US? Let Mexico take care of its own citizens. If we “need” them, we’ll ask.

That's just it Benicar our companies want these workers. Mexicans have been filling seasonal work for decades legally and illegally.

So don't ask us, ask your local landscaping, fishery, crab chucking, meat packing, restaurant and masonry company.

The thing is, if they come in on a H2-B visa they are supposed to get the same wage an American would get, they get the same benefits, they pay taxes, so technically your bills should not be going down with visa workers.

I don't think naturalized citizens are the issue, many companies just want visas workers, OR they want illegals..
