At what point will unemployment become so high that the government has no more choice but to stop bending over for Big Businesses? Why do we still have an alphabet soup of visas when Americans are being laid off in the thousands??

Simple, the Master Card is tapped out. Think about the metaphor.

Because in some cases, the US needs better educated and trained labor that it not found in the States.

With unemployment rates where they are, I completely and totally disagree. You have bought- or are propagandizing- the fallacies of corporate America. Shameful.

This is worse than the illegal Mexican immigrants cutting our grass.

>Because in some cases, the US needs better educated and trained labor that it not found in the States.<

Wrong 95% of the time anyway. There are VERY few areas/skills in the economy with labor shortages.

Let me fix this for you

Because in some cases, the US needs better educated and trained labor that is willing to work for a third to half off the going rate, not found in the States.

Im in NJ. Bring over an engineer from India and pay 50-60K where an American with the same experience and skill set would cost 80-110K.

BTW they (foreign workers on their way) post on these very boards. See the NJ, NY, CT, and MA boards.

The post will look something like "can I live in NJ on $60,000 a year?"

Here is why: Although the total unemployment rate for the US is 8.5%, the rate for those with a college education is only 4% which is basically full employment.

What is it the OP is looking for....?

Does the OP wants all American citizens working abroad send back to the US the same way as he wants to ship all foreigners on visa out of this Country. I guess you will have a way higher unemployment rate and will loose out on very smart and honest people who are creating jobs in this country as well. Look at all the businesses who are bought by foreigners (E2) and hired Americans to work for them, which is one of the rules under that visa....

Maybe you should rethink about your post!

That's a very small handful. In most cases those on employment visas are not at all more educated and trained. Often they're right out of school, have no special job experience and no superb education that is so much better than that of Americans.

That's a valid point. Maybe all employment visas and maybe all immigrant visas should be even trades between us and various nations. If one nation employs or takes in 500,000 Americans a year, then we could allow for 500,000 of their citizens a year. If another nation takes in and employs only 2000 Americans, then we would take in and employ 2000 of their citizens.

That would allow for better balance and control. Immigration is certainly not helping our economy at all as it's in the worst shape it's been in for years. It's ridiculous to hire foreigners when Americans need jobs, other than those with truly superior skills but those are rare in reality. And instead of paying for foreigners to move here, businesses could offer scholarships and training programs and give Americans a chance to make it.

Don't know much about ALL visas, but for IT engineers from India, you need to have at least a bachelors degree and 3+years of experience. That is the basic eligibility.
