Default SAFE ACT Introduced to Shut Down Visa Lottery

Rep. Goodlatte Reintroduces SAFE Act
Friday, May 8, 2009, 11:02 AM

Rep. Bob Goodlatte (R-VA) reintroduced his SAFE for America Act (H.R.2305) last night, which would in effect shut down the Visa Lottery. The lottery issues 50,000 green cards per year without any regard to their humanitarian needs, what they might offer the country or their having any family connections here.

The bill has 26 cosponsors. (Listed Below)

NumbersUSA will have a bill analysis once the full text is released

H.R.2305

Title: To amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to eliminate the diversity immigrant program.

Sponsor: Rep Goodlatte, Bob [VA-6] (introduced 5/7/2009) Cosponsors (26)
Latest Major Action: 5/7/2009 Referred to House committee. Status: Referred to the House Committee on the Judiciary.

Rep. Goodlatte Reintroduces SAFE Act | NumbersUSA - For Lower Immigration Levels

In light of the fact that millions of Americans are unemployed and we are being overrun with millions of foreign nationals who are not benefiting America but are simply here looking to fulfill their "dream" I think this bill deserves serious reconsideration.

Hmm . . . . is common sense making a comeback on America?
