Can an H4 Visa holder return to their home country every now and again to undertake paid employment with an employer back home? This would obviously be subject to UK income tax and only until green cards come through
You may want to get the advice of a professional tax advisor, but this is my take:
The H4 Visa holder is a citizen/landed immigrant of some other country than the US, therefore they are allowed to leave and enter said country freely and are still entitled to work in that country.
As for taxes, that is where it gets complicated. You must determine if the H4 visa holder is a resident or a non-resident of the country in which they are going back to work. If they are considered a resident, then they must pay taxes to that country and no need to declare it on US tax forms. However, if they are considered non-residents, you must pay taxes on your worldwide income on your US tax return ... again, consult a tax advisor on this one.
